Agent Preferences

Agent preferences let you personalize how the agent works with you. These settings apply across all of your workspaces and affect the agent's communication style, level of detail, and how much it asks before acting.

Two dimensions

Your preferences are set along two scales.

Experience level tells the agent how much you know about cloud infrastructure.

  • Beginner means the agent explains concepts as it works, provides context about why certain services are chosen, and suggests reasonable defaults when asking questions
  • Intermediate means the agent works at a moderate pace with standard explanations
  • Expert means the agent is concise, challenges your design decisions, discusses architectural tradeoffs, and acts more like a peer reviewer

Working style tells the agent how you prefer to collaborate.

  • Autonomous means the agent executes with minimal questions and only confirms before major actions
  • Balanced means the agent asks clarifying questions when things are ambiguous
  • Collaborative means the agent asks frequently, presents multiple options, and confirms before most actions

Setting your preferences

Click your avatar in the top right corner of the screen to open your account settings, then select the Agent tab. You'll see an interactive grid where you can drag to set your position across both dimensions. A preview below the grid shows how the agent will behave based on your selection.

New accounts default to the middle of both scales (Intermediate, Balanced).

How it works

Your preferences are applied at the start of every session. The agent adjusts its verbosity, how often it asks questions, whether it explains concepts or challenges assumptions, and how much confirmation it seeks before taking action.
