Context gives the agent project-specific reference material that belongs beside the repository rather than inside it. It is shared across the workspace and can include uploaded documents and public links.
Use Context for requirements, architecture decisions, design specifications, operational notes, and other material that explains what you are building. Use rulesets for standards that the agent must consistently follow.
Open the Context tab and drag in a file or browse from the upload area. Supported formats include PDF, Word, Excel, CSV, text, Markdown, JSON, XML, YAML, TOML, common source files, and common image formats.
Each upload can be up to 100 MB. Agent processing has a separate 10 MB limit, so accepting a larger upload does not guarantee that every part can be extracted for a Work request. Repeated file contents return the existing document instead of creating a second copy.
Add a description to explain why the document matters. Tags help workspace members group and filter related material.
Choose Add public link to save an HTTPS reference with a title and description. A saved link is a reference for workspace members and agents. Saving it does not copy or continuously refresh the remote page.
Do not put credentials or access tokens in a Context URL. The URL must be public and use HTTPS.
Search covers document names, descriptions, link titles, URLs, and link descriptions. Filter by Documents or Links and combine tag filters to narrow the list.
People with permission to manage workspace Context can update descriptions and tags or delete an item. Deleting a document removes its stored file and metadata. Existing Work messages remain, but the agent can no longer read the deleted file from those references.
In a new or existing Work conversation, type @ to select a Context document or attach one from the composer. The agent checks your current workspace and document permissions before reading it.
Context belongs to the workspace, not to an individual conversation. Sharing or deleting a Work conversation does not change the underlying Context item.
You can also manage Context through the REST API.
